For this first volume, we turn our focus to Thin Lizzy—a band whose legacy runs deep beneath the surface of nearly every significant rock and metal act to emerge over the last three decades. Their unmistakable dual guitar harmonies, streetwise songwriting, and fearless fusion of hard rock, blues, and soul didn’t just define an era—they quietly reshaped the future.
Bow to Your Masters: Volume I brings together a curated selection of artists from across the heavy underground, each offering their own interpretation of Lizzy’s timeless catalog. Rather than imitation, these renditions channel the spirit of the originals through the lens of modern heaviness—stretching, distorting, and reimagining familiar material into something both reverent and new.
Every track on this compilation was engineered and mixed independently by the participating bands and their close collaborators, preserving the raw individuality that defines the underground. The final mastering was handled by Tony Reed (Mos Generator, HeavyHead Recording), whose touch brings cohesion without sacrificing the grit and character of each performance.
The visual identity of the release is equally considered, with artwork crafted by David Paul Seymour and Austin Barrett—capturing the mythic weight and enduring influence of the source material through a modern, underground lens.
